I went to art school, which is the kind of thing you say at parties when you want the conversation to end. The school was the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, which I am mentioning here because the entire point of going to a school like that is to be able to mention it later, on a website like this one. After I graduated I did what every art school graduate is privately advised to do, which is take a job focused on shareholder value. I have been at one ever since. I have a calendar. I have, on multiple occasions, used the phrase let’s circle back without flinching.
The trouble with art school is that it leaves you with a permanent itch to make things. So I still make things, on weekends, on planes, in the small windows where the calendar lets me. This website is where all of that goes, the way some people have a garage and some people have a Notes app and some people have a therapist.
